What would our favourite period show characters wear from House Thirteen?

As we settle into lockdown no.3 (or is it 4? We’ve lost count…), we are diving back into binge-watching series’ and it got us thinking…what could our favourite characters wear from our collection? We’re sharing our top jewellery picks for the main characters in our top four favourite online shows across the eras right now!

The Queen’s Gambit - Beth Harmon

The Queen’s Gambit - Beth Harmon

First up, we have The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix; set in the 60’s, we follow the life of orphan Beth Harmon who is on a mission to become the world’s greatest chess player! With 60s fashion and jewellery being full of geometric shapes, dangling earrings and bangles we thought our Rise earrings and Stack bangle would be a good match for Beth. Of course, she would be wearing gold to match her watch from her adoptive mother.

Next, we chose The Crown also on Netflix; with the introduction of Princess Diana in season 4 and the almost identical outfits to irl, the costume department did an amazing job of capturing Diana’s down-to-earth yet elegant style. We’ve picked our Drop earrings and Foundation Plane bangle for the Princess of Wales, with both pieces being elegant and timeless. Perhaps, she would have worn our Foundation Choker for an event when making a fashion statement.

Bridgerton - Daphne Bridgerton

What would be a Period Show top 4 without Bridgerton? Based on Julia Quinn’s novels set in the Regency era of London, the classical elegance of the ladies outfits in the series has inspired a new era of corsets and empire waist dresses but what House Thirteen jewellery could the characters wear? Out of all the women in the series, Daphne Bridgerton would most suit pieces from our collection, particularly the Foundation Collection. Similar to the dainty necklaces and earrings she wears, the Foundation Plane Bar Necklace and Foundation studs would work perfectly for her style.

Lastly, we chose The Serpent; set in the 70s, this crime drama miniseries follows serial killer Charles Sobhraj and his girlfriend Marie-Andrée Leclerc, otherwise known as her alter ego, Monique, as they travelling across Asia. We’ve picked our Drop hand chain for Monique as a nod to Asian culture and the Stack earrings, matching the large dramatic earrings of the era.
